Best Bites San Francisco

All the good things we ate in the City.

The Pastries at b. Patisserie

We always talk about the goodies at b. Patisserie and for good reason. Everything – from cookies to puddings to pastries – are delectable. We always get the banana chocolate croissant and the kouign amann. These two treats will tickle your tastebuds. But do try anything (and everything) else on the menu. The breads, cakes, tarts, puddings, mochi, the list goes on! We’ve been meaning to try the sandwiches too, but we always get distracted by the sweets. Oh, and don’t forget the coffee to go with your pastries – it’s an excellent cup of joe. b. Patisserie * 2821 California Street * San Francisco, CA 94115

A Slice at Victor’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant

We were fighting hunger pangs as we strolled down the street looking for a lunch spot when we passed Victor’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant. We simply couldn’t ignore the tantalizing aroma. We took two steps back and entered through the Dutch door and placed our order: a slice of sausage and pepperoni to share. A generous slice was placed in the giant pizza oven and before long we devoured the delicious slice – the crust was thin but not soggy, the sauce zesty, and the meats were high quality. It was an excellent pre-lunch snack. We’ll be back to try the pastas and other pizzas. Victor’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant * 1411 Polk Street * San Francisco, CA 94109

Kabobs & Rice at Se7en Buds

Right across the street from Victor’s Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant is this new spot serving Afghani and Persian dishes. There are so many dishes on the menu that piqued our curiosity. But…we did have that pizza appetizer, so after a deep and meaningful conversation about what to order, we finally decided to share the Combo Kobideh Kabob which is a chicken and beef kabob served with rice and a grilled tomato. The kabobs were SO juicy, the rice was warm and fluffy, and the charred tomato gave each bite a bit of tangy sweetness. Next time, we’re trying the stew, the curry, and the biryani that everybody else in the restaurant was eating! Se7ven Buds * 1426 Polk Street, San Francisco, CA 94109

2 Scoops at Garden Creamery

The Garden Creamery is another must-go spot in San Francisco. The cute corner shop offers from-scratch ice-cream in exotic flavors like Ube, Japanese Milk Coffee, Coconut Pandan, and Black Sesame. I’m a sucker for the fruity flavors like Strawberry on Steroids and Mexanilla Mango – and I’m kinda sorta allergic to mangoes. Yup, this ice-cream is to die for!  Garden Creamery * 3566 20th Street * San Francisco, CA 94110

Late Night Sushi Snack at Nara Sushi

It was late on a Friday night, and we were looking for a bedtime snack. Luckily, we stumbled upon Nara Sushi, a sushi spot with an excellent Yelp rating (sometimes Yelp gets it right). Nara not only serves excellent sushi, but the vibe is FUN. And, the service? So. Friendly. The waitresses even treated us to and joined us for sake shots!  Oh, and the food: we tried the Mushroom Tempura (light and crispy) and a variety of nigiri and sushi rolls – all were superb. Nara is open until 2am on the weekends – perfect for a light night snack spot! Nara Sushi * 1515 Polk Street * San Francisco, CA 94109
